We're back with another #FSSGW23 collab with the teams at Live Free Counselling & Consulting Services and Winrose Oasis Counselling Services!
Rest can be difficult to define because it can look different for everyone.
It can be active, such as going for a walk outside, or passive, such as taking 10 minutes to sit down and breathe deeply.
Rest can help you recover and recharge physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Rest is linked to:
- better physical and mental health reduced stress and anxiety
- improved mood
- decreased blood pressure
- chronic pain relief
- improved immune health
- stronger cardiovascular system
“You were not just born to center your entire existence on work and labor. You were born to heal, to grow, to be of service to yourself and community, to practice, to experiment, to create, to have space, to dream, and to connect.”
- Tricia Hersey, Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto
One thing you can do while resting is journal & dream, here are some journal prompts while resting:
What would my dream day look like?
What brings you joy?
What am I grateful for?
What was the best thing that happened to me today?
What was the most challenging thing I overcame today?
What is your superpower?
Write a letter to your body.
Write a letter to a younger version of you.
